Homeschool Educational Track:
Homesteading & Home Economics

ABOUT SEWING SUB-TRACK

For the 2023-2024 School Year Program, we are partnering with an experienced sewing instructor and entrepreneur to bring beginner & intermediate sewers project-based sewing classes covering ages K-12th. Sewing, it isn’t as hard as you think! Students will ignite their creativity while learning how to operate a basic sewing machine.

Each class will be a specific project students can work on in class and take home to finish (if needed). They will also leave inspired to make more of what they created in class at home!

The modern technology behind sewing machines speed up productivity and allow all sewers, of every level from beginning to professional, to advance their creativity and skills. However, many people are often intimidated by machine sewing, choosing a sewing machine, materials needed, fabrics, etc. Jaimi is here for us to bring a bit of ease by answering some common questions of parents looking at the homesteading track / machine sewing this year.

Our learning experiences are ALL non-government funded.

Join our online Colorado Homeschool Sewing Families community as well!

Jaimi Kunse – Experienced Sewing Instructor

Hello all! My name is Mrs. Jaimi and I am so excited to teach you how to sew. I have been sewing by hand and on the machine since I was about 6 or 7 years old, guided by my grandma and her patience. From there, I excitedly taught myself everything else I know about sewing and quilting, gaining the ability to sew a wide array of projects. I started my own small business years ago, The Frazzled Feather, as a way to share my sewn treasures with others at small markets. I live with my husband Eric and our four children, who I homeschool. I love learning, teaching, sewing, crafting, photography, doing martial arts with my kids, and traveling. I also coach gymnastics!
