What is Read to Launch a Future?
Read to Launch a Future is a 21-day Pathway Reading Challenge benefiting the True North Freedom Fund. Students read, explore topics connected to their interests, and invite supporters to sponsor their participation. Funds raised help provide educational opportunities and scholarships for homeschool students across Colorado.
When does the challenge take place?
September 8–28, 2026.
How long is the challenge?
21 days.
Can my student's regular homeschool reading count?
Yes. We want participation to fit naturally within your homeschool routine. Students may count curriculum reading, independent reading, family read-a-louds, audiobooks, research projects, biographies, educational magazines, and pathway-related resources.
Do students need to read pathway-specific books?
No. Students may read whatever interests them. However, families are encouraged to explore one or more True North Pathways as part of the challenge.
What are the True North Pathways?

Ministry & Leadership
How do students raise funds?
Students invite family members, friends, grandparents, businesses, churches, and community supporters to make donations. Donations may be made as:
One-time gifts
Per-minute / Per-page pledges (optional)

All proceeds support the True North Freedom Fund which helps remove financial barriers to educational opportunity through:

Who can receive scholarships and grants?
The Freedom Fund is being developed to support homeschool students and families who align with the mission and educational philosophy of True North. Additional eligibility requirements and application processes will be announced as the program launches.
Why is True North doing a reading challenge?
Reading is one of the most powerful ways students discover interests, develop skills, and explore future possibilities. This challenge combines literacy, exploration, and opportunity into a single community-wide initiative.
What is the goal of the challenge?

250,000 Minutes Toward Purpose
$25,000 Freedom Fund Launch Goal
Together, we’ll aim to reach 250,000 minutes and $25,000 to help homeschool students across Colorado pursue educational opportunities through the True North Freedom Fund. Every page contributes to a larger vision of helping homeschool students move from Curiosity → Exploration → Pathway → Purpose.
Can businesses participate?
Yes. Businesses may sponsor individual readers, contribute to the Freedom Fund, or explore future Pathway Sponsorship opportunities. Businesses interested in partnering with True North are encouraged to contact us for sponsorship information.
How can I learn more about the True North Freedom Fund?

Discovery Grants: Helping students explore emerging interests through camps, workshops, field experiences, museum memberships, and introductory learning opportunities.
Community Access Grants: Helping families participate in educational experiences that might otherwise be financially out of reach.
Pathway Scholarships: Helping students pursue focused educational pathways aligned with their interests, gifts, and future goals.
Legacy Scholarships: Helping students take significant next steps toward college, career, entrepreneurship, ministry, leadership, aviation, trades, certifications, and vocational advancement.
